Bora-Bora Women's Group
AKCO supports and works very closely with The Bora Bora Self Help Women’s Group in Kanyimach village. This group was started in 2012 with the initiative of 25 women from the Kanyimach village Community and is registered by the Ministry of Social Welfare in Kenya. The women formed the group to help them address the financial crunch that they continually experience and which is heavily impacting their families.
The group members benefit by saving their meager earnings which are kept in their bank account. So far they have used their savings in buying 100 plastic chairs which are hired out for various functions in the village.
They have strong leaders with a passion for development and are strict on rules and regulations within the group. They also have great future plans for the development of group members as well as members of their community.
This group is happy to work with AKCO so as to bring change in their Kanyimach village at the grassroots of their village.
